About Diamond Dogs Academy, dog trainers Droitwich, dog training academy UK

Hi, my name is Naomi,

and I am the proprietor of Diamond Dogs Academy. I have had a lifelong passion for animals since a young age, and I dreamt of becoming a farmer or veterinarian.

At 16, I began working in kennels, catteries, and pet shops, gaining valuable experience that laid the foundation for my future. I have cared for a wide variety of pets, including my own and other people’s, such as hamsters, terrapins, cats, chickens, a hedgehog, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, birds, fish, and dogs.

When I was 19, I entered the hairdressing industry, where I excelled in my career, winning numerous competitions and progressing to teach students in their own salons and their training academy. I also conducted workshops for salon owners, helping them expand their knowledge to pass on to their own teams.

I achieved notable success in my career, but my true passion for animals has always remained my devotion. In my free time, I often go on group dog camping trips or participate in various dog events, including dog shows, canine backpacking, canine weight pulling, urban mushing, group walks, and meetups with my own dogs and friends who share my enthusiasm.

My dedication to dogs went beyond casual trips;

I travelled around the UK to train and showcase dogs at various championship shows and weight-pull competitions. I took pride in mentoring fellow dog owners, sharing my knowledge and experience to help them strengthen their bonds and training with their own pets.

Over the years, I have assisted with rescue, fostering, rehoming, whelping, and participating in and organising events to raise funds for various charity rescue centres. In the 2013/2014 season, my own Alaskan Malamute, Nanook, and I achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the weight pull championship and setting a record for the highest weight pulled in the UK—a notable achievement that remains unbeaten to this day.

My journey in dog training started in 2005 when I purchased my first book on the subject. This sparked a passion within me that would shape my future. In 2022, I combined my teaching expertise with my love and knowledge of dog training by founding Diamond Dogs Academy. Through this academy, I endeavour to help pets and their guardians develop enduring, loyal relationships through gentle and ethical training methods. My approach centres on building trust and confidence, fostering stronger bonds between dogs and their guardians.
